The Boardroom Brief
It is 2026. Apex Global PLC is a £4.2bn multinational technology conglomerate operating across 34 countries. After three consecutive quarters of declining employee engagement scores and two high-profile leadership failures — a botched product launch in Asia-Pacific and a toxic culture crisis at the European HQ — the Board has commissioned an urgent review of the company's leadership pipeline.
The Chief People Officer must present a strategy to the Board within 6 weeks. The central question: "How should Apex Global select, develop, and deploy its leaders across different business contexts to maximise long-term shareholder value?"
To advise the Board, you must master every leadership theory on the Cambridge syllabus. Each theory is a strategic tool. The skill is knowing WHEN to deploy each one — and understanding the consequences when a leader picks the wrong weapon for the situation.
